Padlo opened Sophros Recovery in 2021 after going through his own addiction and mental health challenges. He long sought a treatment program that filled the gap between residential care and everyday life — a gap he built his company to help close. Sophros treats adults facing substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns, offering individual, group and family therapy alongside treatment for alcohol and drug addiction.
During the past three years, Sophros Recovery has grown 277%, expanding from a single center to three locations. That growth has been fueled by rising demand for higher-quality intensive outpatient care. In 2025, the company acquired Breakthroughs Counseling, and recently opened Soteria Recovery Homes in the Tampa Bay area, a first-of-its-kind sober living community pairing clinical support with the stability of private living.
