IRVINE, CA, UNITED STATES, August 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Life Seal Vascular, Inc. (LSV), a medical technology company developing innovative sealing solutions for endovascular aortic repair, has been awarded prestigious $1.25 million Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF).
This critical non-dilutive funding allows LSV to further advance its R&D and engineering pipeline, while minimizing equity dilution for existing shareholders ahead of commercialization milestones. The award capital will directly support imminent preclinical development and pre-Investigational Device Exemption (pre-IDE) activities, rapidly accelerating the company’s regulatory pathway toward an FDA IDE clinical trial submission and approval.
The award serves as strong federal validation for the commercial and scientific merit of LSV’s proprietary Cygnum™ Aneurysm Sac Management Device (ASMD), which has recently undergone a first in human trial with excellent results. Used as an adjunct to conventional endografts, the Cygnum device targets endoleaks—the primary, multi-billion-dollar clinical failure point in endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR). By introducing a predictable approach to sac sealing, LSV is uniquely positioned to establish an entirely new product category within the vascular device industry.
“This Phase II award is an important validation of our scientific progress and the commercial potential of our platform,” said Matt Thompson, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Life Seal Vascular. “This competitive, non-dilutive support allows us to build meaningful company value while remaining focused on our mission to dramatically improve long-term outcomes for EVAR patients.”
This grant is supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation under Award No. 2537986.
