Nashville, Tennessee Aug 11, 2026 (Issuewire.com) The Josie Music Awards is proud to announce that legendary singer-songwriter, guitarist, and Grand Ole Opry member Vince Gill will be honored with the Country Icon Award at the 12th Annual Josie Music Awards, taking place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the iconic Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.

One of the most celebrated artists in modern country music, Vince Gill is renowned for his exceptional songwriting, world-class guitar work, and warm, soaring tenor all delivered with a quick and easy wit. His breakthrough arrived in 1990 with “When I Call Your Name,” which earned both the Country Music Association’s Single and Song of the Year awards and a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male.

Gill’s career is defined by remarkable achievement. He has won 18 CMA Awards, 22 Grammy Awards, and 8 Academy of Country Music Awards, and in 2025 received the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1991, he was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and in 2007 was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012 and was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005, later receiving the prestigious BMI Icon Award in 2014. In 2022, Gill was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame.

Throughout his career, Gill has released 21 albums, sold over 30 million albums, and charted 45 singles. A musician above all else, he has been a part of iconic bands including Pure Prairie League, The Notorious Cherry Bombs, and The Time Jumpers. In 2017, Gill joined the Eagles on the road and continues to tour with the legendary band.

The year 2025 marked the 50th anniversary of Gill leaving home to pursue music. To commemorate the milestone, he signed a lifetime contract with MCA Records and is releasing an EP series of new music every month for a year, titled 50 Years From Home.

“We are deeply honored to present the Country Icon Award to Vince Gill at this year’s Josie Music Awards,” said Tinamarie Passantino, Dr. h.c., Co-Owner of the Josie Music Awards. “Vince’s incomparable artistry, decades of extraordinary contributions to music, and his enduring influence on generations of artists make him truly deserving of this recognition. To have him join us on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry House, a place he has called home for decades, will be an unforgettable moment.”

The 12th Annual Josie Music Awards weekend will begin with the JMA Music Conference on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, followed by the main awards ceremony on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at the Grand Ole Opry House.
