SAVAGE, Minn. – September 15, 2026 – Following the Scott County primary election, Savage City Councilmember and civic leader Bob Coughlen has officially secured his advancement to the November general election ballot for Scott County Commissioner District 5. District 5 represents the residents of Savage.

A Proven Track Record of Public Service
Coughlen brings over four decades of combined experience in public governance, private enterprise, and military service:
- 20+ Years in Savage Municipal Governance: Served 11 years on the Savage Planning Commission and 9 years on the Savage City Council.
- Regional Transportation & Policy Leadership: Represents the community on the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) board and the Scott County Association for Leadership and Efficiency (SCALE) Executive Committee.
- Small Business & Budget Management: Over 36 years as an architectural designer and owner of R & C Drafting, directing operations and multi-million-dollar project budgets.
- Military Service: 20-year veteran of the United States Army Reserve (1983–2003).
